Protecting our workplace and communities with every action we take

For the boiler experts at Prime Boiler Services, “safety first” is more than just a passing saying. It’s the guiding principle that directly impacts our daily operations and activities, both within the workplace and in the field. It’s what helps us to ensure the protection of the local communities we serve and call home.

Company safety policy

Prime Boiler Services Ltd.’s senior management is committed to ensuring a safe environment and has set safety as one of the company’s core values. The core value of safety states that “we work from a mindset where each individual is responsible for the physical and psychological safety of all.”

The company is committed to a health and safety program that protects our workers, others who enter onto our worksites (i.e., contractors/visitors) and the general public.

The employer, managers/supervisors and workers at every level are responsible and accountable for the company’s health and safety performance. Active participation by everyone, every day, in every job is necessary for the health and safety excellence that this company expects. This includes promoting and maintaining the physical, psychological, and social well-being of all employees. Our goal is a healthy, injury-free workplace for all workers. By working as a team, “together we can” achieve this goal.

Prime Boiler, as the employer, makes the commitment to take every reasonable precaution to protect the health and welfare of the workers, customers, public, property and the environment. This will be done by ensuring workers are aware of their rights and duties under legislation including protection from harassment and violence at their worksites, working with the health and safety committee, ensuring that safety concerns are addressed in a reasonable timeframe and supervisors receive adequate training to protect the health and safety at their worksites.

Supervisors will work under the relevant occupational safety and health legislation and take all precautions necessary to protect the health and safety of every worker under their supervision. They will advise the workers of every known or reasonably foreseeable hazard in the areas where they will be performing work. Supervisors will report any concerns regarding health and safety acts or conditions that occur or exist to the employer. They are also responsible to ensure that workers wear the expected and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for tasks being performed.

Workers shall protect their own health and safety and that of the others at their worksites. They shall cooperate with their supervisors and employer in protecting themselves and others. They shall use protective devices where required and shall wear the required PPE for the jobs they are performing. Workers need to report any unsafe acts or conditions including bullying and harassment, along with all other incidents to their supervisors.

Workers at every level must be familiar with the requirements of occupational health and safety legislation in the jurisdiction in which they are working as it relates to them and their worksite.

Working safely is everyone’s right and responsibility. As individuals, we must take responsibility for making every worksite a safe worksite and wherever possible, help with improving safety measures.
